Everything buyers and sellers ask about RFQs, payments, disputes and refunds on Kenya's B2B marketplace.
Dukkapu is a B2B marketplace in Kenya where businesses buy and sell products and services. Buyers can add listed items straight to their cart and check out directly, or post a Request for Quotation (RFQ) describing what they need and receive quotes from verified sellers to compare before ordering. Both buying paths are fully supported, and orders can be paid for with M-Pesa, bank transfer or card.
Ordering directly works like a standard online checkout: add a listed product to your cart and pay to place the order at the listed price. An RFQ is for when you want custom pricing, bulk quantities, or specifications a standard listing doesn't cover — you describe what you need, sellers respond with quotes, and you pick the best one. Both paths are supported and create a trackable order.
Registration is free for both buyers and sellers. Buyers browse listings and post RFQs at no cost, and sellers can create a profile and publish listings for free.
Dukkapu covers multiple B2B categories including goods, services, digital products, agriculture, building and construction materials, and logistics. Buyers can browse by category or post an RFQ naming exactly what they need.
A buyer posts an RFQ specifying the product or service, quantity, specifications and delivery location. Sellers in that category submit quotes with price, minimum order quantity and lead time. The buyer compares quotes side by side in their dashboard and accepts the one that fits best, which creates an order.
Every order has an expected delivery date based on the seller's stated lead time. If that date passes and the order has not been marked delivered or cancelled, it is automatically flagged as overdue in Dukkapu's admin system for review, and the buyer can also raise a dispute directly from their order detail page.
Open the order from your buyer dashboard and select "Raise a dispute" on any order that has not yet been delivered or cancelled. Choose a reason, such as late delivery, wrong item, damaged goods or non-delivery, and add notes. Dukkapu's team reviews the dispute and follows up on resolution, which can include a refund.
Orders are paid for through the platform. Dukkapu supports M-Pesa, bank transfer and card payments. Payment is linked to the specific order and tracked through order status, from unpaid to paid to delivered, so both buyer and seller can see where things stand.
A seller can cancel an order that hasn't been fulfilled or delivered, which updates the order status and notifies the buyer. If the order was already paid, by M-Pesa, bank transfer or card, Dukkapu reviews the cancellation and, where a refund is warranted, initiates it directly, so the seller does not handle refunds themselves.
Once Dukkapu approves a refund for a cancelled or disputed order, funds are typically returned within 2 to 3 business days, whether the order was paid by M-Pesa, bank transfer or card. The order's payment status updates automatically once the refund is confirmed.
Yes. Every seller is reviewed before they can publish listings or receive RFQs, and buyers can rate and review sellers after delivery, which helps surface reliable suppliers.
